Rate Information

A. Any water used in excess of the minimum gallonage aforesaid shall be billed to the owner or customer at the following graduated rates:

Amount of water used in Quarterly Meter Reading Cycle Charge per 1,000 gallons
  1. First 6,000 gallons - included with quarterly minimum (PDF)
  2. 6,001 to 13,000 gallons - $5.57 per 1,000 gallons or part thereof
  3. 13,001 to 25,000 gallons - $7.09 per 1,000 gallons or part thereof
  4. Over 25,000 gallons - $8.30 per 1,000 gallons or part thereof
B. There shall be an allowance of 6,000 gallons per quarter before excess use charges shall apply. The 6,000 gallon allowance shall not accumulate from one quarter to another. However, an adjustment shall be made on an annual basis to any account where excess use charges have been incurred, but no more than 24,000 gallons have been used in the previous calendar year.  Requests for credit must be made in writing and received in the Collections office by March 1st for a credit on the 2nd quarter bill.


Sec 222-40 Excess Sewer

The quarterly minimum rental charge for use of Township's sewer collection system shall be $110.48 per dwelling unit.
Excess sewer use shall be charged at the rate of $2.01 per 1,000 gallons of water or any part thereof over the first 31,250 gallons of water.

Sec 222-11 Billing for Charges

A. Bills for minimum and excess water and sewer charges shall be rendered quarterly. Bills will be due and payable within 20 days of receipt and on the date specified on the bill. Bills not paid within 30 days after the due date specified on the bill will be assessed interest at the maximum rate provided by law. Interest and penalties will be added to all bills unpaid at the rate of 8% on the first $1,500.00 and 18% on amounts over $1,500.00.
B. Each quarterly bill will contain the quarterly minimum water/sewer charges In addition, quarterly bills will also include actual charges for excess water and sewer usage.

Sec. 222-16 Regulations Controlling Discontinuance of Service

A. For the use of water for any other property than that described in the application.
B. For willful waste of water through improper or imperfect pipes, fixtures, or otherwise.
C. For failure to maintain in good order, connections, service lines or fixtures owned by applicant.
D. For molesting any service pipe, motor, curb stop lock or seal or any other appliance of the water department.
E. In case of vacancy of premises.
F. For neglecting to make or renew advance payments or for nonpayment for water service, or any charges occurring under the application.
G. For refusal of reasonable access to the property for the purpose of inspecting or for reading, caring for or removing meter.

222.31. Billing Complaints

Any complaint concerning a meter reading, or charges billed must be made within 15 days of billing date.
