Mayor Dominick “Nick” DiRocco has served on the Wall Township Committee since 2014 and was elected Mayor on January 4, 2017.
An attorney, Mayor DiRocco has worked in several public and private sector legal positions during his career, and presently works for a leading health insurance company. Previously, he served as Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Chris Christie where he assisted in the planning, coordination, and implementation of the Governor’s public policy agenda, and also held the position of Senior Counsel to the Governor where he provided legal advice on a wide array of matters including pending legislation, litigation, federal and state statutory responsibilities, and the development of administrative regulations and executive orders.
He briefly left the Governor’s Office in June of 2013 when he was appointed Counsel to United States Senator Jeffrey S. Chiesa, where he served until the expiration of the Senator’s term in November of 2013. Prior to joining the Christie Administration, he was Assistant Vice President at the New Jersey Business and Industry Association and served as Legislative Director for the New Jersey Association of Counties.
After beginning his career as a law clerk to Superior Court Judge Harriet Derman, Mayor DiRocco was appointed as a Deputy Attorney General for the State of New Jersey where he handled a variety of civil and criminal issues, serving from 2000 to 2007.
He is also active in civic and community affairs at the State and local levels, having served on the Wall Township Planning Board for over ten years, including four years as Chairman. He is also a member of the New Jersey Local Finance Board and the State League of Municipalities Legislative Committee. He previously served as Chairman of the State Capitol Joint Management Commission, and also served as Governor Christie’s appointee to, and Chairman of, the NJ State House Commission for two years. He has also served as an adjunct instructor of social sciences at Ocean County College and as a guest faculty member of the New Jersey Attorney General’s Advocacy Institute.
Mayor DiRocco earned his law degree from Seton Hall University School of Law after graduating from Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He resides with his wife Keri and their three daughters, Nicole, Alexa, and Daniella, on Willow Drive.
