![]() Mayor John Devlin was raised in Sayreville, New Jersey, and has been a resident of Wall Township for twenty years. He is married to wife Kara and they have two children, Samantha and Courtney. Mayor Devlin attended Sayreville War Memorial High School and Middlesex County College. After a four-year apprenticeship program for the Boilermakers Local # 28, Mr. Devlin spent the next eighteen years in various positions for the Boilermakers. In 1997 Mr. Devlin became Legislative Director and Delegate to the United States Congress for the Boilermakers Local # 28 and currently holds the same position. Mr. Devlin ran for Township Committee to help make Wall Township a better place to live. He was first elected to the Township Committee in 2000. Mr. Devlin worked with the Township Committee on issues such as Allaire Airport. Mayor Devlin served on the Finance Committee and worked with the Superintendent of Schools and the Board of Education to reduce the school budget. Mr. Devlin also worked with the Township Committee to have the White Swan Cleaners Project added to the National Priorities List of the Superfund Program. Some other issues of importance to Mr. Devlin are continuing to work on the West Belmar Gateway Project, the preservation of open space at Wreck Pond and bringing the Length of Service Awards Program to the volunteer squads in the Township. Mr. Devlin urges community members to become involved and feels that volunteers provide extraordinary service to our town and that the community grows stronger when more citizens get involved. |
