Michael Clayton is a lifelong resident of the Township of Wall and currently resides in the Allenwood section of town. Mr. Clayton is married to Linda and they have two children, Kelsey and Jake. Mr. Clayton graduated from Wall High School and attended the New Jersey City University where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree. For the past twenty-four years, Mr. Clayton has worked as a Fire Inspector and has had the opportunity to work with various agencies at the local, County and State levels of government.
Over the past thirty years, Mr. Clayton has dedicated a large portion of his life serving the residents of Wall by volunteering in various capacities. Mr. Clayton has served as Chairman and member of the Wall Township Board of Adjustment and has also been a member of the Wall Township Planning Board where he assisted in preparing two Master Plans for the township. Mr. Clayton has been a member of the Wall Fire District No. 2 for twenty-nine years and a Trustee on the Wall Foundation for Excellence for three years. In addition, Mr. Clayton has been a member of the Monmouth County Historical Society, Old Wall Historical Society, Jersey Shore Running Club, Allaire Village Inc., NJ State Forest Service, New Jersey State Fireman's Association and the Monmouth County Fire Prevention & Protection Association. Recently, Mr. Clayton was awarded the Community Relations/Community Alliance 2006 Citizen of the Year award for all his time and effort given to volunteering in the community. Mr. Clayton has received various awards from the Wall Township Fire District No. 2, Unit Citation award from Monmouth County Fire Academy, Robert Brice Memorial Award, and Certificates of Appreciation from Monmouth County Park System and the 4-H Clubs of Monmouth County.
Mr. Clayton was recently appointed to fill the position of Committeeman vacated by John Tobia who resigned from the Township Committee in June. Mr. Clayton will work hard for the residents of Wall while continuing his involvement in the community.
