OPRA- Request for Public Records Form

  1. As per N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1 Government Records shall be readily accessible for inspection, copying or examination by the citizens of this state with certain exceptions for the protection of public interest

    Cost per page of photo copies: 8 1/2 x 11, letter size paper- $00.05 8 1/2 x 14, legal size paper- $00.07.

  15. Requirements to Fulfill a Request

    As per N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1 the custodian of records has seven (7) business days to respond to a request for public records.

  16. Right to Appeal

    The requester has a right to challenge a decision by the public agency that has denied access to a public record by appealing to the Government Records Council or the New Jersey Superior Court. If your request is denied, a statement of the procedures will be detailed in an email from the Records Custodian.

  19. As per N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1 the Record Custodian must provide the legal basis for the denial of access or denial in part.
